Students are placed with Benjamin (advanced) or Viola (beginner/intermediate) based on level and goals.

Students progress through structured levels, each building on the last.

Level 1

Foundation

Ages 5-8 / Beginner

Building strong fundamentals in reading, rhythm, technique, and musicality. Students learn to love practice through engaging repertoire and a structured, encouraging approach.

Level 2

Development

Intermediate

Expanding technical range, deepening musical understanding, and building independence. Students begin tackling standard classical repertoire and preparing for competitions.

Level 3

Mastery

Advanced

Refining artistry and tackling the most demanding repertoire in the piano literature. Advanced students work toward competition success, exam distinctions, and pre-conservatory readiness.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age can students start piano lessons?

We accept students beginning at age 5. At this stage, lessons focus on building strong fundamentals in reading, rhythm, and hand position through engaging, age-appropriate repertoire.

How long are piano lessons at Choupak Piano Studio?

All lessons are 60 minutes, held weekly. This format gives students enough time each session for technique work, repertoire, and theory without rushing.

Do you prepare students for piano competitions and exams?

Yes. Competition and exam preparation is built into our curriculum. Our students regularly participate in MTAC, CAPMT, ABRSM, CM, RCM, US Open Music Competition, Junior Bach Festival, and other regional and national events.

Where is Choupak Piano Studio located?

Our studio is located at 20860 Hanford Drive, Cupertino, CA 95014. Lessons take place in our private home studio, and visits are by appointment only.

How are students matched with a teacher?

Students are placed with either Benjamin or Viola Choupak based on their level and goals. Benjamin works with advanced and pre-professional students, while Viola specializes in beginner and intermediate instruction.

How much do piano lessons cost?

Lessons are $130 per 60-minute session, billed monthly. This includes customized curriculum, competition and exam preparation, and recital opportunities throughout the year.
